Great Tansitions (ages 10-12)
|
|
Early adolescence is an optimal time for shaping enduring patterns of behavior that set a young person on a successful course for life. This workshop helps pre-teens develop the skills they need for leadership such as maintaining a sense of self-worth, forming close, durable friendships, and achieving a reliable basis for making informed choices. In this safe, encouraging, and lively environment, they will:
Identify age-appropriate independence Learn how to handle their feelings in different situations Negotiate new and conflicting demands and pressures Learn how to establish friendships and a sense of belonging among peers Respect and nurture their emerging identity Strengthen social skills Become more involved in community, family, and school

Essentials (ages 13-15)
|
|
During this 5-day experiential adventure, teens learn the essentials of healthy and open communication patterns as well as social and life skills. They become more aware of their positive strengths and abilities, which promotes self-esteem. They improve their decision-making skills and master everyday issues. In a safe and no put down atmosphere the Workshop helps teens to:
Deal with peer relationships and peer pressures Overcome self-defeating thoughts, behavior and actions Identify and begin to understand and express emotions Communicate with respect (anger and attitude management) Cultivate problem-solving habits Enhance self-confidence and self-worth Develop and enhance positive friendships Enhance social skills

Building Blocks (ages 13-16)
|
|
This 5-day Workshop provides teens with opportunities to develop reliable bases for making informed choices, increase their social competency and resilience, and improve coping skills, thereby preparing them for leadership positions in the home, school and the community. The Workshop helps youths understand the changes, demands and difficulties teens face. In a lively, interactive process it offers practical methods to assist youth in being able to meet and successfully master these adolescent challenges. In the same no put down atmosphere they learn and have the opportunity to practice:
How to differentiate between functional and toxic relationships Appropriate interpersonal behaviors and social communication skills Peaceful conflict management techniques The use of inquiry to enhance problem-solving skills How to build healthy attitudes and individual strength of character The elements of responsible citizenship

Finishing Touch (ages 15-19)
|
|
In this 5-day Workshop, middle aged adolescents are provided the opportunity to build additional transitional skills as they approach young adulthood. During this experiential process, strategies and concepts will be presented to stimulate higher self-esteem, advanced problem solving, decision-making, and stress reduction skills with the support of a highly skilled staff in a safe and caring environment. The Advanced Workshop is directed towards:
Develop a secure personal boundary system Enhance understanding of the physical, emotional, mental, social and sexual self Increase self-motivation, constructive expression and assertiveness Gain skills for coping with a variety of environments and situations Learn to set long- and short-term goals Focus energy and commitment toward future goals

Pre-teens (ages 10-12) & Teens (ages 13-16)

Afternoon Workshops help to shape enduring patterns of behavior that set a young person on a successful course for life. These engaging Workshops guide the development of skills that are needed for personal leadership through the use of educational and social components, structured exercises and positive group interactions. The Afternoon Workshops are designed to re-engage participants and support the skills they developed in the Summer Workshops. However, these Afternoon Workshops are also beneficial even for new participants who may not have attended a Summer Workshop.
Each Afternoon Workshop focuses on a different, relevant topic to pre-teen and teen issues ranging from time management skills and goal setting to dealing with peer pressure and strengthening friendships.

These innovative and interactive Parenting Seminars provide an experience that both challenges and inspires parents to learn skills that will increase their parenting dexterity. In a supportive atmosphere, parents learn to strengthen the vital skills needed for successful parenting. Activities include presentations, discussions, journal writing, experiential learning and group activities. Detailed topics include: responses to teens challenges to parental authority and wisdom, setting limits that are respected, the four major developmental domains, the eight essential family values and more.

Shaping and influencing girls to become exceptional women. This powerful "girls only" workshop focuses on giving girls the tools they will need while growing up and "finding their groove." Mother - Daughter Workshop

The Mother-Daughter Workshop celebrates the sacred bond between a mother and daughter. Every spring Workshops offers an interactive day to laugh, share and learn about what it means to be a woman in our society today while solidifying this special relationship. Frances Mills-Yerger, Ph.D. and team will delight you with their informed, spirited and humorous journey to break down the barriers and help you and your daughter take big steps in a more loving and authentic relationship with one another.
This innovative, interactive Workshop will provide an opportunity for memories and healthy, loving and affectionate connections between mother and daughter through presentations, discussions, journal writing, experiential learning and small and large group activities. Daughters must be between the ages of 11-16 years old.
